Italian Food
Hola!!! I'm not really a big fan of Italian food but right now.. spaghetti olio with grilled salmon and speckle of dried cili padi will keep me drooling all night long.. before this, i thought italian food is all about creamy, cheesy and gooey stuff but then.. voila! they are to die for...
went to venice and had the best italian food ever at Restorante Pizzeria Malibran near Corte Seconda Del Milion (near Marco Polo's house). grilled mixed seafood i.e. dory, salmon, scampi and a kind of fish that taste like our ikan terubuk but with less bones with olio spaghetti.. always bring the dried cili padi around for our asian taste buds. even the normal spaghetti with tomato and basil taste heavenly...
no trip to italy is complete without eating gelato. this one we had in a cafe in Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Square). Were a bit crazy from all the walking and had to pay a bomb for 2 gelatos & a bottle of water while listening to the band playing italian music.
People say eating in Italy will cost you a bomb. It is true if you are seating down and being served by waiter or waitresses. I found out that they made it a law that if you go to a cafe, order an espresso etc, they are not allowed to charge you more than EU1.00 for it. If you are seating down at a place 'only for waiter service' then the cafe or restorante have the right to charge you exorbitantly...
Till my next entry... Ciao
